Hi, I'm Sophia. I'm a junior this year at Blue Valey West. This is my third year as a student and track and field athlete at the school, and I have loved every moment of it. I'm very family-oriented, as I have two sisters, one of whom is a freshman this year. I have always liked photography; my grandfather was a professional photographer and inspired me to try black-and-white photography. I have learned so much throughout my time in Photo I. I learned how to operate a manual camera, load film, and process pictures. At the beginning of this class I did not properly know how to balance light or achieve good focus. I believe that after all the months, I have learned how to do those skills and take quality photos. Although I might not get the most perfect pictures I try to capture unique things or special places to me. When I took photos, I focused mostly on staying on the theme with things around me. Many of the photos come from my cousin's backyard, where I spent many summers. I like all the photos showcased in this portfolio, but my favorite is the Dumbo photo. I think it is the most visually appealing and a good showcase of my photography skills. I hope you like some of the photos in this gallery, and thank you to my wonderful teacher, Mrs. Price.
